Hello! I'm sorry about yesterday's post! I forgot to do the last step and click "publish."

For today’s Christmas treat recipe, I wanted to make Italian struffoli. They are little fried balls of dough covered in honey. Sometimes people add other topping such as sprinkles, candied fruit, and amarena cherries.

We have a solid recipe, but we couldn't find it. So we tried a new one from the internet. As I was making this new recipe, it felt a little off. I thought it was just me. The balls turned out okay-ish, but too dense. Not the classic honey balls I was going for. At least the honey was very tasty:

After making them, we found our usual recipe, plus another one from an aunt. As suspected, the originals had leavener in them for a fluffier ball. Then we realized... this new recipe, which had come from a reputable website, was marked as AI-generated. Yikes.

Thank you for reading and I hope your week is going wonderfully.

Merry Christmas,
