Journal 29 Small Break and Apple Cake

Hello! How was your week? My week was nice. The olds left the house for a week. So after crashing from exhaustion, resting like crazy, vomiting up some pent-up emotions, regathering myself, and finally feeling good again, I felt rejuvenated. Not even funky fish could ruin my happiness from my mental peace on that last day. It’s like my body knew how much time it had to go through all the processes. If the olds had come back before they were supposed to, I think I would have had the wind knocked out of me.

Although they came back today, I had enough leftover normalcy to bake a cake! It’s a variation of the apple cake. This version is neither creamy nor dry. While the texture was good, the flavors didn’t come together. This version was too heavy on bourbon flavor, and didn’t contain butter or oil, or salt. But it was still pretty good and comforting! Can‘t wait to have some more in the morning with coffee.

Sorry about the shadow in the first photo, it was the best option in the kitchen. I tried to take a photo of the slice too by my computer. I used an iPhone flashlight behind a pair of orange glasses for lighting haha.

Please have a great week!
