Journal 15
Monday through Wednesday it was a little chillier this week. The socks have been reached for.
The garden I planted at the beginning of summer did not do too great, but a few things did good. Basil did really good, and some tomatoes and hot peppers are ripening. Rosemary is doing well. Maybe I will plant some cold weather crops.
The house I was interested in did not work out. Neither was a rental I inquired about. That’s okay! It feels good just to be in a situation with possibility right now.
The housing effort takes a lot of time, so I stopped doing the few recreational activities I had. This wasn’t a good idea, haha! You really need to choose to spend time doing happy and relaxing activities, even if it takes effort. I lost energy and motivation by neglecting happy things, becoming so tired, that it was hard to gather the energy to start them again.
Yesterday, I went outside for the first time in a week. I noticed that it was eerily quiet and still... Where were all the insects? There was also no one from the regular animal crowd: no chipmunks, bunnies, squirrels, or the birds with the long tails who sound like they are meowing. Then, this morning in the paper I read about the “insectageddon.“ Scary, and sad.
However, I did get stung quite badly when I entered the garden. I did not mind, it felt like I was getting an immune system boost. And after the eerie stillness, it was a relief to feel them on me! The things we take for granted.
Thank you for your company. Have a great week!
