Journal 31 Shopping Rounds
Hello! How was your week? I had a very busy weekend in terms of going out– two full days of shopping at very crowded places. Thanksgiving is coming up on Thursday.
Our first stop was Lee Sims Chocolates in Jersey City. This store has been there for many decades. Every year at an extended family Christmas gathering, someone would bring Lee Sims chocolates. They are very good!
Then over the course of two days we made our rounds to Costco, Whole Foods, Target, ShopRite, and a few more. Everywhere was so crazy busy!
In Target, I found a possible body brush, but there was a hole in the package. I was also looking for a body sponge, but like in all stores, the body sponges were not packaged! I don’t understand! Nearly everything we buy is packaged in plastic, but for some reason, an item as personal as a body sponge –something you are going to shove into the crevices of your genitals– is sold right out in the open for anyone to touch! Why?
If you are also in the market for a good body sponge, I can point you to one of my favorites: the Salux washcloth. There is a nearby Japanese supermarket, Mitsuwa, but it is a difficult drive from where I am, so I do not get to go there as often as I would like. They sell a long exfoliating washcloth from the Salux brand. Amazing! And packaged in plastic.
At Costco I was super hungry, but it was hard to find a snack with good ingredients. Surprisingly, found Loacker brand chocolate treats, a brand from South Tyrol. Very good!
Hope you enjoyed reading my tidbits from the shopping trips. Please have a lovely week.
