Journal 39 Super Bowl, Small Oven and Air Fryer
Today was the Super Bowl. It is an American thing that I never fully understood. Virtually every player ends up with brain injuries. Many Americans watch the Super Bowl, but for us, it’s an excuse to cook chicken wings. Traditionally, there are also chips and dip. I did learn an interesting thing: the football coaches pass notes on paper because they worry that digital notes will be compromised by the competing team. Before the game, all the stores were empty.
Unfortunately, today we couldn’t do the wings because the oven broke. Because we will have to wait a long time for a repair from the repair service (they void the warranty if we fix it ourselves), we purchased a small countertop oven: the Ninja Foodi Digital Air Fryer. I have never used a Ninja brand product.
This was the only small oven we could find that has a stainless steel interior. All others are non-stick coated, including Wirecutter picks. That site is not what it used to be, such a shame. I discovered so many nice products on there in previous years. Like the Catball!
Although the Ninja has arrived, it still needs to be cleaned and burned-in, but we ran out of paper towels to clean it with, so chicken wings are delayed a day.
I have never used an air fryer, so I’m pretty excited to try it! All the fried food I never get to eat went through my head, with funnel cake being the most fried food I could think of. But can I make a funnel cake in there???
Hope you have a lovely week and thank you for reading!
