Journal 43 Weird Property, Nordic Noir, No More Plastic Mattress Protector
Hello girls. How was your week? Are the seasons beginning to change in your area?
I have been reading my The Lord of the Rings book set. Just finished the second book and started the third book. I learned that it is not actually a trilogy, but originally a single book. I wish I knew, I feel like this is an important fact for several reasons.
The housing search has been tough. We found a potential property, but as always, something was very weird with it. (Why can't it ever be a passable level of weird?) Before making the drive to see it, we explored it in the game Flight Simulator. In the adjacent lot, there were mysterious communal living buildings. As soon as we saw them, we knew: “Very bad.” Swinger resort? Senior resort? ... Senior swinger resort? Worse. Something to do with children. It gave me the creeps. It was like a setting in one of those Swedish TV shows or movies where something very bad happens to young boys or girls in an isolated rural place.
I do not like those shows. They always start with something so horrible, usually to a young girl. But I do know of one nordic noir that embodies that mood but isn’t too bad: Bron/Broen, 2011.
And on a lighter note, there are always the first two seasons of Lilyhammer, hahaha. (I do not recommend the third season.)
I have made a change and decided to stop using a plastic mattress protector. I like my liners, but I could not take it anymore! It felt like being cooked between the protector and the blanket! “Breathable plastic barrier” my butt, there is no such thing!!! I do not know what my long-term plan is, for now I am just changing the bottom sheet at double the frequency. Maybe I will search for a non-plastic natural mattress protector or use a wool or cotton quilt as the liner.
Thank you for reading. Please have a nice week!
