Journal 50 Auto-Capitalization, Brain Unwiring, Van Cleaning

Hello girls! Today was a cloudy but also bright green day.

I am having trouble writing this post, because on my Apple device, after an update, it is auto-capitalizing words from popular culture such as music bands, fast food chains, celebrities, and corporations. Green Day, Dairy Queen, Home Depot, and Apple Store are all normal words in the English language... why are some auto-capitalized? Who decides what gets capitalized and what doesn’t? None of this should be! I’m sure there is a farmer out there who runs a lovely apple stand at the farmers’ market. Why is that “apple store” any less than the “Apple Store”? Or a depot dedicated to home products? And maybe the Dairy Queen of the county fair doesn’t want her title to be known around the world.

I’m happy to report that avoiding the internet and only going on devices with a specific purpose has been helping my brain. I have had less anxiety, and it feels like my brain has been rewiring or maybe un-wiring. Maybe, I feel a little smarter...  Again, my internet use was already minimum, but in the end, even shopping apps started to give me the same negative effects of reading the news. I read my regular newsletters, visit websites and YouTube channels, but I try to pull out before targeted ads and other unwanted content starts to drag me down.

I maintained my van a little bit this week. Mostly just tidying. Almost all of the van laundry is done now. It came out very nice! No smells! Now there is a job I am dreading... vacuuming the floor of the cab. Maybe I can put it off a little longer.

Thank you for reading! I appreciate it so much. Please have a super awesome week.
