Wow, what a hot day! I think it was over 100 when I was outside. Today was the coal basket’s debut. ...Things could have gone better but at least I learned a lot!
I was cooking a spatchcock chicken and chicken thighs. So I think, oh the grill will now be so hot for so long, no problem, right? Well it was so unexpectedly hot that I had difficulties. Such a difference with the basket versus without basket. After a little drama, by the end of the cook it was a steady temperature in there, but it was so wild at the beginning. Once I get the hang of both ways maybe I’ll write a guide.
Also exciting: I picked up an Ikea Strandon mini grill on sale! But on the Ikea front, as an avid shopper at the store, I must share some disappointing observations. I purchased items from my favorites list when they went on sale, like cottagecore style cushion covers and a children’s chair for my cat, but they had defects. What’s odd is that the defective sale-priced products were targeted at young women or for children. Then I heard that Ikea has been changing manufactures for many products. Were the crappier manufacturers given the women’s and children’s items to produce for a sale price? I think the materials were good, it just looked like they were made carelessly. Very strange, Ikea is usually pretty good with everything, especially children’s stuff, so I hope it doesn’t happen again. I like Ikea, but they are a corporation.
So maybe it worked out that I wasn’t able to afford the discounted pink upholstered bed. Upholstered beds confuse me anyway. It is fabric. You can’t take it off and wash it. That will get so much hair oil, dust mites, and more on it. How does that work? But it was so cute...
Thank you for reading. Have a great week and stay safe if the weather in your area is extreme. As seen on the news lately: EXREME HEAT CAN CAUSE PERMANENT BRAIN DAMAGE AND VITAL ORGAN FAILURE. Yikes!
